Lacey Jane Wilburn
“My painting practice is propelled by human energy and the imprints that we leave behind: a smile that blossoms warmth in one’s chest, the gravity of certain voices, or even a melancholy vacancy. For me, these sensations are palpable but fleeting, and I attempt to encapsulate this energy through a sculpting of paint. My work draws upon traditions of both genre painting and realism in portraits and interiors, using paint to shed light on the complexities of urban life and domestic spaces.”
Sayge Fisher
“Embroidery is one of the most ancient art forms, practiced across many different societies. Although my style is far from traditional, there’s something about embroidering that connects me across time with millions of other artists throughout history. Embroidery as an art form has traditionally been a stigmatized as a feminine practice, one that lends itself to many facets of society from fashion, religion, royal status, storytelling through tapestries, household decor, personalized clothing, family crests, symbols of resistance & revolution as well as many other artifacts throughout civilizations.”
Marie Moose
“After working as a graphic designer for nearly a decade, I stepped away from the computer and started to seek a different way to express my creativity and work with my hands. I found a new passion in acrylic painting and farming in beautiful Revelstoke, BC”
Radhika Bhoite
“My work is a journey through the fabric of memory, nostalgia, heritage, and the literal materials we wear on our bodies. The influences reflected in my work stem from my interest in vintage fabrics and clothing rooted in personal experience. I am drawn to textile patterns that evoke my Indian heritage, alongwith visual motifs in global clothing trends.”
