MINI MAKERS COLLECTIVE | AFTER SCHOOL CAMP

This fall, the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre is offering a 4-week art program for kids! Students will get the chance to experiment with a variety of mediums, including clay hand building, watercolours, acrylic painting, and sketching and drawing. Each week brings a new hands-on project that sparks creativity and builds artistic skills in a supportive, inspiring environment.

DROP IN ART NIGHT | FREE

Drop in Art nights are back for the spring! These relaxed evenings are open to everyone so bring your art supplies, a drink, a snack, and come get creative! These evenings are a fantastic way to make time for your art and meet other creatives.
The gallery will have some basic supplies on hand, like scissors and brushes, however artists are expected to be self sufficient and bring their own supplies. In the past participants have worked on everything from illustrations and paintings, to fishing flies and mending projects. We welcome all forms of creative expression, just please avoid brining any projects that are overly loud or smelly.

BYO PUMPKIN CARVING | FREE

Looking for a way to get into the Halloween spirit without the mess at home? Join us for a free pumpkin carving night just for adults! Perfect if you’re new to town, want to soak up a little more spooky fun, or are simply looking for a relaxed way to connect with others. Bring a friend—or make one here! Just don’t forget to bring your own pumpkin, knife, and carving tools.

LIFE DRAWING | WEEKLY DROP IN

Life Drawing is back! The season will begin Monday, October 20th and will run every Monday night until the end of March. These sessions have been filling up, so we’re now capping participants at 20 people max. Make sure to arrive early to claim your spot and get set up.

HALLOWEEN MASK PAINTING WORKSHOP

Start your Halloween celebrations with a simple and hands on workshop! Kids will paint and decorate their very own masks using a variety of colourful materials. With step-by-step guidance in a fun and supportive environment, each child will head home with a unique mask to enjoy for Halloween.

TEXTURED PENDANT & EARRING WORKSHOP

Join us at the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre for a full-day jewelry workshop! Students will explore the process of rolling, texturing, and shaping clay to create their own pendant or earrings. Once dried, pieces are sanded, fired in the kiln, and transformed into pure silver. Each creation will be polished and finished, ready to wear or gift.

Step into a safe and supportive space where you can gain skills with power tools and build your confidence in woodworking. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this female led workshop is designed to help you flourish.

Instructor Elynyd Benjamin, a Red Seal Carpenter since 2015 and a graduate of the Fine Woodworking Program in Nelson B.C., will guide you through your intro to power tools journey with a series of small take-home projects.

Most materials are included, however participants are required to bring their own safety glasses, pencil, and tape measure.

RING WORKSHOP

Spend the day at the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre learning the art of silver jewelry making. In this workshop, you’ll design, texture, and shape your own custom ring, then finish it to a smooth polish. By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry that you made yourself.

INTRODUCTION TO POINTILLISM | ADULTS

Discover the world of pointillism with Delree Dumont in this introductory workshop! Delve into Delree’s signature style as she shares the tricks of the trade, including the tools and paints she uses, how to highlight an image, and how to achieve the right consistency for your dots. Students will have the opportunity to paint from their own reference images, adding a personal touch to their first pointillism piece. This beginner-friendly class provides all the necessary materials, offering a social environment to learn this incredible painting technique.

CREATIVE WRITING 4 WEEK COURSE

Our 4-Week Creative Writing Crash Course and dive deep into the fundamentals of storytelling! Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, this course will equip you with the tools to bring your ideas to life on the page.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Style & Characterization
  • Plot & Narrative Arc
  • Genre Exploration: Literary, Suspense, Romance, Horror & more
  • Dialogue & Tension Building

Across the four weeks, you’ll progressively build the outline and character maps for a short story up to 2,000 words, which can be tailored for either adult or children’s literature. By the final session, you’ll share your completed story with the class for constructive peer reviews, applying the techniques you’ve learned.

The Teeny Art Gallery is live, ever-changing, and waiting for you! This miniature gallery operates on the “take a piece, leave a piece” model. Create something tiny, place it in the gallery, and take home a new tiny masterpiece!

Revelstoke’s smallest art gallery is nestled on the left side of the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre at 320 Wilson St. Spot the little white box in the undercover section—it’s here year-round, snow or shine!
