Mural Workshop | Adults

Hosted by Antonia Otoya

Learn how to transform your artwork into larger-than-life murals in this immersive three-day workshop. Antonia Otoya will guide you through a perfect balance of hands-on learning and theory, providing you with the essential foundations of mural painting. This workshop is designed for beginners and artists who want to expand their skills and delve into the world of mural painting. Please note that this class focuses on hand painting with acrylic paint, rather than spray paint.

TIMELINE:
Friday Evening: Learn the theory, partner up, start finalising your design. 
Saturday (Full day): Translate your design onto the building, mix colours, paint!
Sunday (Full day): Continue painting your mural

CLAY BEAD WORKSHOP | AGES 6 - 10

Looking for a creative after-school activity? Kids ages 6–10 are invited to join us for a two-part pottery workshop at the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre! Students will first learn to handbuild their own clay beads, then return the following week to paint and decorate their creations.

TECHNICOLOUR POTTERY | ADULTS

Hosted by The Creative Traveller

Looking to bring bold colour and intricate pattern into your ceramics practice?
This hands-on workshop is designed for intermediate and advanced potters with previous handbuilding experience who are ready to deepen their skills and explore new creative territory.

What You’ll Learn:

  •  An introduction to ceramic stains
  •  Working with 3 base colours to create your own inlaid slab
  •  Building a one-of-a-kind patterned mug from your slab
  • Techniques inspired by Nerikomi — a Japanese method of layering coloured clay

This class focuses on slab work, surface design, and colour play — perfect for artists wanting to push beyond basics and experiment with dynamic new techniques.

Poetry in the Gallery | FREE

Come spend a free evening surrounded by poetry, creativity, and community! Whether you’d like to read your own work, share a favorite poem, or just sit back and enjoy, everyone is invited. Bring a warm drink, settle into the cozy gallery space, and let yourself be inspired. This is a relaxed, judgment-free event where all voices are welcome—especially beginners!

INTRODUCTION TO POINTILLISM | ADULTS

Hosted by Delree Dumont

Discover the world of pointillism with Delree Dumont in this introductory workshop! Delve into Delree’s signature style as she shares the tricks of the trade, including the tools and paints she uses, how to highlight an image, and how to achieve the right consistency for your dots. Students will have the opportunity to paint from their own reference images, adding a personal touch to their first pointillism piece. This beginner-friendly class provides all the necessary materials, offering a social environment to learn this incredible painting technique.

A free community wide project for all

The Teeny Art Gallery is live, ever-changing, and waiting for you! This miniature gallery operates on the “take a piece, leave a piece” model. Create something tiny, place it in the gallery, and take home a new tiny masterpiece!

Revelstoke’s smallest art gallery is nestled on the left side of the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre at 320 Wilson St. Spot the little white box in the undercover section—it’s here year-round, snow or shine!

Absolutely everyone is welcome to participate—no need to be a member, a seasoned creative, or a certain age. Join us and share the teeny love!
