Free Artists Talk

With Karen Tamminga-Paton

Join us for an intimate artist talk with main gallery artist Karen Tamminga-Paton on Saturday, April 13th, from 4:30 – 5:30pm. Dive into the world of political, global, and environmental health as Tamminga-Paton shares the inspiration behind her stunning large-scale paintings.

This thought-provoking exhibition stems from conversations held worldwide, and now it’s your chance to join the dialogue right here in Revelstoke! Stick around after the talk for a Q&A session and the opportunity to meet the artist in person. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.

  • All welcome, no RSVP required

Creative Writing | Signups Closed

Workshop with Maya Fowler

UPDATE: Unfortunately due to low sign ups this class has been cancelled, however we’re determined to continue providing opportunities for creative growth. If you’re interested in taking a version of this class in the future please contact us

Immerse yourself in a supportive, uplifting, and enjoyable course delving into the fundamentals of creative writing. Covering elements like style, characterization, plot, genre, dialogue, narrative arc, and tension, the sessions are designed to be both informative and hands-on. Explore various genres, from literary and suspense to romance and horror, and discover your preferred arena.

Throughout the four sessions, you’ll progressively create an outline and character maps for a short story of up to 2,000 words. This can be tailored for adults or children. Following Session 3, you’ll write the full draft of your story, sharing it with the class for constructive reviews in Session 4. The class will engage in providing feedback, drawing on the knowledge gained in the course.

  • Wednesday evenings, 6:30pm – 9:30pm
  • April 3, 10, 17 & 24
  • $140 for all four classes
  • Participants are required to bring a notebook and pens (laptops are optional)

While the teacher won’t have the capacity to review or edit work outside of class, she’ll be readily available for questions during sessions and offer guidance during practical exercises. You will also have plenty of opportunities for peer review. So dive into the world of creative writing and let your imagination flourish!

Teeny Art Swap

A free community wide project for all

The Teeny Art Gallery is live, ever-changing, and waiting for you! This miniature gallery operates on the “take a piece, leave a piece” model. Create something tiny, place it in the gallery, and take home a new tiny masterpiece!

Revelstoke’s smallest art gallery is nestled on the left side of the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre at 320 Wilson St. Spot the little white box in the undercover section—it’s here year-round, snow or shine!

Absolutely everyone is welcome to participate—no need to be a member, a seasoned creative, or a certain age. Join us and share the teeny love!

Potential Guild Space | We need your input!

We’re planning for the future and we need your feedback

A potential guild space has just opened up in the centre and we’re looking for your input on what to do with the space! In the past there have been talks of revitalizing the jewelry guild, however we wanted to check in to see if that’s the best way to serve the community of Revelstoke.

We are considering multiple options including:

  • A jewelry guild
  • A screen printing studio
  • A photo development lab
  • Open sewing studio
  • Artist studio space rental | short term
  • Artist studio space rental | long term

Please fill in this short survey and let us know how you would use the space.

Comprehensive Pottery Workshops

Join the waitlist

This 6 week comprehensive pottery workshop provides a crash course into the world of ceramics, no experience necessary. After completing this course students will have all the skills necessary to join the pottery studio and gain 24 hour access to the facilities

Although we’re doing our best to run these classes regularly the waitlist continues to grow so classes are run on a first come, first serve basis. Make sure you put your name on the waitlist sooner rather than later. Currently the waitlist is over 200 people long!

If you want to get hands on with clay a little sooner there is no waitlist for our shorter, once off classes so keep an eye out for these by joining the mailing list or following us on social media. These once off classes pop up periodically throughout the year.
