Nestled inside one of the building’s original jail cells, the Artist Hotdesk at the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre (RVAC) offers a truly one-of-a-kind creative workspace.

Perfect for artists, writers, and freelancers seeking focus, this compact yet comfortable workspace merges history and productivity, turning an old cell into a dedicated space for creative work, design time, or administrative studio tasks.

With a curtain for privacy and 24/hr access to the space, it’s an inspiring place to create, plan, or reflect.

Usage & Rental Information

• The Artist Hotdesk is available for one month at a time. Great for those projects that need more room than the kitchen table can provide.
• Each rental starts on the first day of the month and ends on the last day
• Rates: $125/ month plus a refundable $20 key deposit

• Unfortunately, due to the lack of ventilation we are unable to host pottery in this space.

Please do not undertake any activities which create loud noises or strong smells. E.g. working with chemicals.

Artist Hotdesk Terms & Conditions

While the Artist Hotdesk is a private workspace reserved exclusively for you, it is located next door to our Jailhouse Studios. Please be aware that workshops, classes, and special events may be scheduled in the surrounding areas during your booking period, which may result in increased foot traffic or noise at times.

The Artist Hotdesk is available to all current RVAC members. Not a member? You can join today online, in person, or over the phone.

Access & Use

• The hotdesk includes secure lock access for you and RVAC staff only.
  
  
• Access is provided via key fob.
  
  
• The space is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  
  
• Subletting or sharing the space with another individual is not permitted.
  
  
• Please note that there may be activities held in the adjacent Jailcell studio. If you’d like to know what events are happening during your rental please contact our team.
• Please vacate by noon on the last day of the month

Booking Limits

To ensure fair access and to support as many members of our community as possible:

• You may not book the Artist Hotdesk for more than two consecutive months.
  
  
• Each artist may book the hotdesk a maximum of four (4) times per calendar year.
  
  

Move-Out Requirements

• All personal belongings, artwork, materials, and equipment must be removed by the final day of your booking.
  
  
• Any items left behind after the booking period ends may be removed or disposed of by RVAC without notice.
  
  

Condition of the Space

• The hotdesk must be left in the same condition it was found.
  
  
• Please clean the workspace thoroughly, remove all trash, and return furniture or equipment to its original layout.
  
  
• Any damage beyond normal wear and tear may result in additional fees.
  
  

Refunds & Cancellations

• Cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the start of the booking are eligible for a full refund.
  
  
• Cancellations made within 7 days of the booking start date are non-refundable.
  
  
• No refunds will be issued for early move-outs or unused time.
  
  
• In the rare event that RVAC must cancel your booking, a full refund or credit will be issued.
